تساهم هذه الورقة في إعطاء التصور عن مدى كفاءة طاقة الرياح في الخليج العربي.
تعتبر منطقة الخليج العربي من أهم المناطق الغنية بالطاقة في العالم، و على مدى السنوات الماضية كان هناك طلب متزايد للاستثمار بالخليج العربي في شتى المجالات، و على وجه الخصوص في مجال طاقة الرياح.
و قد أدى ذلك إلى زيادة الطلب على البيانات الموثقة لسرعة الرياح، و اتجاهها في الخليج العربي.
ففي هذه الورقة تم دراسة سلوك سرعة الرياح و اتجاهها في الخليج العربي من خلال البيانات المتوفرة و لمدة 47 عام من 1960 م إلى 2007م، و تم الحصول على هذه البيانات من International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set(ICOADS).
حيث ساهمت البحوث السابقة في إعطاء بعض النتائج لمتوسط سرعة الرياح في الخليج العربي، و بينت أنه في شهر فبراير كان متوسط سرعة الرياح ٥.٨٣ متر / ثانية.
في حين أظهرت هذه الدراسة من خلال التحليل الشامل و المماثل لنفس الفترة أن متوسط سرعة الرياح قد ارتفع إلى ٧.٧٧ متر / ثانية مما يظهر تحسن النتائج بنسبة 25 %.
و يعتبر هذا تحسنا في تقييم سلوك سرعة الرياح في الخليج العربي.
Abstract EN
The purpose of this communication is to give the prospective of wind energy over the Arabian Gulf.
Various offshore developments have been taking place over the past years ; one in particular is the research and development of wind energy.
This has led to an increased demand of reliable data for wind speed and its direction.
In this paper, we study the behavior of wind speed and direction over the Arabian Gulf.
The data used for the analysis covers the years 1960 to 2007, provided by the International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS).
Previous research over the Arabian Gulf shows that average wind speed for example in the month February is at 5.83 m / s.
whereas ; this analysis shows that for the similar month the average has increased to 7.77 m / s with an improvement of 25 %.
Hence, this determines a significant improvement in the wind behavior over the Arabian Gulf.
