تم خلال المدة من شهر كانون الثاني و لغاية نهاية كانون الأول 2005 جمع 879 سمكة, منها 527 من نوع damascina Capoeta و 352 من نوع C.
trutta و ذلك من بحيرة دوكان و نهرالزاب الكبير في شمالي العراق.
وجدت الأسماك مصابة بالدودة شوكية الرأس Neoechinorhynchus zabensis, بنسة إصابة كلية % 100 و % 91 في أسماك C.damascina و % 98.5 و % 72 في أسماك C.
trutta من بحيرة دوكان و نهر الزاب الكبير، على التوالي.
و لم تظهر فروقات معنوية بين نسب إصابة ذكور و إناث الأسماك بهذا الطفيلي.
ولوحظت زيادة في نسب انتشار الإصابة و كثافة و وفرة الطفيلي بزيادة طول الأسماك.
و كانت الإصابة عالية خلال الربيع والصيف، و منخفضة خلال الخريف و الشتاء.
كما كانت نسبة انتشار الإصابة أكثر في بحيرة دوكان في كل من نوعي السمكتين مقارنة بنهر الزاب الكبير.
Abstract EN
During the period from January to December 2005, a total of 879 fishes (527 Capoeta damascina and 352 C.
trutta) were collected from Dokan Lake and Greater Zab River, northern Iraq.
They were infected with the acanthocephalan Neoechinorhynchus zabensis at overall rates of 100% and 91% in C.
damascina and 98.5 % and 27 %in C.
trutta in Dokan Lake and Greater Zab River, respectively.
No significant differences were noted in the infection of male and female fishes with this parasite.
Prevalence, mean intensity and abundance of infection with N.
zabensis increased with the increase of fish length.
The infection with this worm was high during spring and summer, and low in autumn and winter.
The prevalence of N.
zabensis in both species of fishes in Dokan Lake was higher than that in Greater Zab River.
