Abstract EN

he English novelist Edward Morgan Forster began his literary career in writing short stories .

His first novel Where Angels Fear to Tread appeared in (1905) .

Critics noticed that he had found something incomplete in English social life , thus he began to criticize it moving from the narrower , personal concerns to the wider social life of his society in the early 19s .

The focus on the inner , personal life has changed and this theme was developed with maturity in Hawards End (1910) .

This study tries to follow this movement, from the personal to the social, through a thematic discussion of the two novels and certain references to the plot of each .
