Abstract EN
One of the primary objectives of complete denture construction is the maintenance and restoration of oral masticatory function.
The objective of this study was to compare and assess short coping, long coping and submerged roots as abutments for lower complete over dentures opposed by upper complete dentures.
Electromyography muscle activity, biting force and masticatory performance were used to compare and assess the three different abutments.
On the basis of the results obtained from this study, long over denture abutment proved to be the abutment of choice regarding the electromyography activity and masticatory function performance.
