Abstract EN
In this paper we present results of a study carried out to explore the association of serum uric acid and metabolic syndrome.
Serum uric acid level among 100 patients with metabolic syndrome attending An- Nassirrhya General Hospital for non-cardiac complaint was found to be higher than normal level and control group (405.98micromole / L., 378.51 micromole / L.
respectively).
Serum uric acid level has a direct relationship with the number of metabolic syndrome components with significant higher levels among those with hypertriglyceridemia.
