Abstract EN
Metal complex of 3- phenyl-1- ( 2-hydroxyphenyl ) -2-propene -1- one and 3- pheny l-l-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-propene-1-one derivative with thiosemicarbazaide ( compound I and II) with Cu (II) ions in neutral 95% ethanolic solution has been prepared and studied .
Ligand to metal ratio for the complexes has been investigated using mole ratio method.
The 2:1 complexes absorb light in the region 200-600 nm.
Formations constant have been determined also using corresponding solution method.
The spectrophotometric investigation of the metal complex indicates that it is possible to detect 0.97x10"6 M and 1.03xl0"6 M of Cu (II) ion in its complexes with compound I and II with linear calibration curve up to 3.0xl0"4 M for ion.
No interferences have been observed with most transition metal under our experimental conditions.
