New set of palladium (II), rhodium (III) and mercury (II) complexes with 2, 6-diaminopyridine (dap) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, infrared, electronic and 1H-and 13C{1H}-NMR spectra.

The various bonding modes of dap have also been discussed.
