Abstract EN
Background / Aim : Urethrocutaneous fistula is a rare complication of circumcision, however, its repair could be a problem due to lack of local skin for a local flap procedure.
In the present study, excision of the fistula with end-to-end urethroplasty was used for the management of post-circumcision fistulae and the results were evaluated.
Patients and Methods : our work included 7 cases in a period of about 6 years; the mean age of them was 4.2 years.
All the fistulae were sub coronal, and all the patients were operated upon after more than 6 months of circumcision by the same surgeon.
All the basic criteria for fistula repair were fulfilled, and excision with end-to-end urethroplasty technique was used in all patients.
Results : during the 7-month mean period of follow-up, the postoperative functional & cosmetic results were excellent; we had no recurrence of the fistula, urethral stricture or penile disfigurement in all patients.
Conclusion : repair of post-circumcision fistula by excision with end-to-end urethroplasty is a simple technique that gives excellent results in nearly all cases.
