الهدف : استقصاء نمط تضييق المنخر في الأردن و مقارنته بالنمط العالمي.
الطرق : اشتملت الدراسة على جميع حالات تضيق المنخر التي أدخلت إلى مستشفيات البشير و الجامعة الأردنية و الملك المؤسس عبد الله الجامعي في الفترة ما بين كانون الثاني 1996 و كانون أول 2004.
النتائج : تم تشخيص 36 حالة تضيف منخرو، 15 منها بين الذكور و 21 بين الإناث و بنسبة بلغت 1 إلى 1.4.
كان التضيق ثنائي الجانب في 24 % من الحالات و في الحالات أحادي الجانب كان التضيق في الجهة اليمنى في 76 % من الحالات.
و قد كانت نسبة الانسداد العظمى إلى الغشائي 2 إلى 1 و في جميع حالات ما عدا إثنين منها استخدم الأسلوب الجراحي عبر الأنف للعلاج مع نسبة معاودة بلغت 14 %.
الاستنتاج : إن تجربتنا في الأردن تختلف قليلا عن مثيلاتها في دول من حيث نسبة التضيق العظمى إلى التضيق الغشائي هي اثنان إلى واحد و ليس تسعة إلى واحد و كذلك فأننا لاحظنا أن نسبة حدوث تشوهات خليقية مع هذا المرض هي اقل بكثير من النسبة العالمية.
Abstract EN
Objective : investigate the pattern of choanal atresia in Jordan and compare it with the international pattern.
Methods : all cases with channel atresia admitted to the main three hospitals in Jordan (Al-bashir, Jordan university hospital and King Abdullah university hospital) were enrolled in the study, during the period from January 1996 till December 2004.
Results : a total of 36 cases, 15 males and 21 females with a male to female ratio of 1 : 1.4, were diagnosed over the study period.
Bilateral atresia was found in 42 % of patients.
In cases with unilateral channel atresia the right side was predominant (67 %).
Bony to membranous ratio among cases was 2 : 1.In all but two cases, trans nasal approach (of surgical treatment) was used with a recurrence rate of 14 %.
