Abstract EN
FMD is an important, economic, acute febrile and highly contagious viral disease affecting all cloven footed animals including sheep.
In countries like Egypt, where control of FMD depends upon vaccination, young ruminants get antibodies against FMDv through their dams.
Maternal antibodies provide immediate protection against infection with FMDv as early passive immunity is transferred to offspring via administration of colostrum This research studied the maternal immunity of FMD in vaccinated Egyptian sheep against FMDv / o1 / 93.
Results of this study clear the ways of maternal immunity transportation and recommended vaccination time to lambs born to vaccinated and non-vaccinated dams.
