Turkey and turkey poults were surveyed for the presence of S.

Arizona.

The survey reveal an incidence of late lactose fermenting S.

arizona (2%) and (2.5%) in both large commercial flocks and yard flocks respectively, the rate of flocks infection were (7.7%) and (8.33%) in large and yard flock respectively.

Artificial infection by I / V route proved the pathogenicity of S.

Arizona, which produce mortality 50%, severe symptoms and PM lesion.

Locally prepared vaccine could protect against mortality, PM lesion, symptoms and decrease the rate of colonization of either organs or intestine by S.

arizona.

Comparison between the method of detection showed that serological test (SAT) was superior to direct isolation either from intestine or internal organs.
