Evaluation of Jordan's stand towards the Israeli-Turkish security agreement of 1996

Abstract EN

The aim of this research is to explain Jordan's stand of neutrality towards the Turkish- Israeli security agreement of 1996.

The main reason was Jordan's awareness and conviction that regional alliances and by implication sub-regionalism were destabilizing and did not serve Jordan's security well.

This is the first academic study, as far as we know, that explain Jordan's stand towards the Turkish- Israeli security agreement and that where the importance of this research follows accordingly.

By implication it raises the question whether future attempts to establish regional alliances and sub-regional political grouping will offer small countries like Jordan security or not.

Combination of analytical and historical methods are used in the research.
