While systems are often defined in terms of their functionality, quality of service (QoS) defines the non-functional characteristics of a system, affecting the perceived quality of the results.
In communication this might include message delay, or path bandwidth, as opposite to the fact that a message was delivered, or a path was found.
Therefore, the specifications of quality of service are important in networks and distributed computing systems in this paper, new clustering criteria will be introduced.
The network will be clustered according to the QoS parameters (delay, bandwidth …etc.), rather than the node ID or the connectivity degree.
The quality of service concepts will be illustrated.
QoS parameters and categories will be highlighted.
Also a new clustering algorithm based on QoS parameters, Max Min-Delay clustering, will be introduced.
Evaluation of the performance of the new clustering algorithm will be illustrated with respect to both, the clustering metrics and the routing metrics using the shortest path QoS routing algorithm.
