Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is a met heuristics inspired by foraging behavior of ant colonies that has been successful in the resolution of hard combinatorial optimization problem.

One of important Ant Colony models used to solve combinatorial optimization problem is called Population based Ant Colony.

This paper presents two enhancement versions of Population based Ant Colony : Best-Worst Population ACO (BWP-ACO) and Iterated Population Ant Colony (IP-ACO).

Results clearly indicate that Iterated Population Ant Colony system yields best solutions for all benchmarks due to its capability to explore and exploit the solution space effectively.
