Abstract EN

Alphabetic tree cipher (ATC) is a symmetric block cipher based on an interesting property of optimal alphabetic trees (OATs).

This paper analyzes the structure and design of ATC and three symmetric key block ciphers ; RC5, RC6 and Rijndael.

A comprehensive comparison is conducted among them according to some performance metrics also the security of the algorithms is analyzed and discussed against different kinds of attacks.
