Supporting model transformation using mathematical representation : representing platform specific model (PSM)‎ mathematically

Model Driven Architecture (MDA) needs transformation.

Most model transformation approaches choose graph transformation or metamodel as the underlying mechanism for the transformation.

We will propose a mathematical transformation to be the underlying mechanism for the transformation.

In this way, we will overcome two problems of model transformation : formality and customizability.

This method is based on MDA concepts ; it depends on representing the two languages used in the Platform Independent Model (PIM) and the Platform Specific Model (PSM) mathematically.

So the transformation will be from one mathematical form to another, reducing the transformation to transformation among finite sets.

In this way, the transformation is formal and customizable.

In this paper we propose a mathematical transformation engine which is built-up of mathematical representation for the PIM and PSM presented earlier
