Framework for evaluating the quality of e-government websites

Abstract EN

The aim of this paper is to design questionnaire as a evaluation tool to evaluate an e-government website quality and test its clarity and readability.

Through a comprehensive literature review of sources on website quality in various domains and particularly in the domain of e-government, we arrived to 49 quality items.

These quality dimensions are compiled into a questionnaire that can be used to valuate website quality features for significance as for e-government websites.

A focus group of one hundred and twenty students studying in the area of computer science and computerized information systems, at taibah univ.

in KSA, was selected as respondents.

Respondents were asked to evaluate and complete the questionnaire proposed, from the author if it was needed, and to provide feedback on the readability and clarity of questions and quality dimensions.

Feedback and comments were used to improve the quality of the proposed questionnaire to build final questionnaire and use it as an evaluation tool in future work.

The questionnaire developed in this study can be used to gain insight into views of e-government and focus the attention of all groups in KSA community (citizens or residents) on the importance of e-government website quality features.
