إن عملية دمج وحدات من الحزم البرمجية الجاهزة (تعرف بـ برمجيات تجارية على الرف) لبناء نظام برمجي جديد هي أسلوب مستمر بالنمو كطريقة جديدة لتطوير البرمجيات.
و لكن عملية تقييم و اختيار مثل تلك المنتوجات البرمجية ما زالت تشكل تحدي للمستفيدين و ذلك عائدا لطبيعة المنتج الموصوف بالصندوق الأسود (الغير مرئي مزاياه) و التغيرات السريعة في سوق العمل و ضرورة مرونة المتطلبات.
في هذا البحث تم تحسين معيار جودة موجود مسبقا و مختص بتقييم الحزم البرمجية الجاهزة.
تحديدا عملية التطوير أو التحسين شملت ما يلي : تعريف مواصفات جودة برمجية جديدة و دقيقة لخطوط الجودة العريضة و تفرعاتها الموجودة في المعيار مسبقا، ثم تعيين وحدة قياس جودة لكل من تلك المواصفات الدقيقة التي تم إضافتها، بحيث يسهل تقييمها.
إضافة إلى ذلك، يقدم هذا البحث مراجعة تحليلية لخمس طرق موجودة و تستخدم لتقييم و اختيار حزم البرمجيات الجاهزة مع إظهار سيئات تلك الطرق و عجزها عن تقديم آلية لقياس جودة المنتج على ضوء معيار الجودة المحسن الذي تميز به هذا البحث.
Abstract EN
Integrating Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components to build a new software system continues to be one of the fastest growing methods in system development.
However, the process of evaluating and selecting such products is still a challenge because of the "black box" nature of COTS components, the rapid change in marketplace and the requirement flexibility.
This contribution enhances a previousl introduced dedicated software quality model for evaluating COTS components.
The enhancements include : identifying new attributes for the quality sub-characteristics in the model and defining metrics rules in an attempt to measure the quality of these new attributes.
In addition, this paper provides a review of several existing methods used for selecting COTS components, and outlines their disadvantages with respect to our enhanced model.
