E-learning is online delivery of the training and education resources, it is an internet based education medium, therefore e-learning is the best way to educate a dispersed workforces.
E-learning provides very valuable online scientific materials, therefore there are always many risks on those materials including hacking, denial of service and forging the identity, so there are growing needs for securing the e-learning contents.
Security in e-learning is the process of assuring that every resource will be used correctly by the correct person.
It includes user authentication, protection of private information, and protection of data integrity.
In this paper an e-learning authentication technique is proposed, this technique provides authentication using a combination of the conventional user-name and password technique in conjunction with biometric authentication via voice print.
This technique uses Light-Weight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) to store and retrieve the information stored about each user.
Also this technique uses RSA as a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for the session key exchange.
The proposed e-learning authentication technique is superior to all other previous related techniques, because it uses two levels of authentication first using user-name & password then by the voice-print, therefore it will be extremely difficult to forge the authentication identity.
