آراء الإمام البريلوي في مالية و ثمنية النقود الورقية

Abstract EN

This paper aims to study the opinions of Al- Imam Al-Biralwī (1856-1921), in his book " Kifl al-Faqīh al-Fāhim fī Aĥkāmi Qirţās ad-Darāhim "which deals with Maliah and Thamaniah of Al-Nuqud Al- Waraqiah (paper money as part of wealth, and its ability to do the functions of money).

These opinions were included in his book which he authored at the beginning of the twentieth century.

This paper displayed and studied Al-Biralwī’s opinions in the light of Islamic economic thought and fiqh.

It concluded that he believed that paper money is part of wealth and it can have the functions of money because the society accepted and approved it as money.

0n the other hand, the Imam did not give it the same juristic rules which related to Al- athamn Al-Khalqiah (gold and silver money) but he conceders it as Fulus (copper money) and granted it other rules.
