طبيعة مشكلة الأمن الغذائي و مسبباتها في الجمهورية اليمنية

Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to know food problem in Yemen is appeared by continuity of increasing food requirements by faster rates than increasing of production and population rates.

The study has finished how to provide the main food requirements.

The study has reached that population increment rate is not the main and only reason of increasing request on foodstuffs and imbalance between production and consumption, but belongs to the expansion of urban including internal migrations, and supporting of main foodstuffs by the government lend to increasing demand on it.

The paper has recommended putting on end to this ascending demanding on foodstuffs by increasing of production and productivity, vertical and horizontal expansion, and facing increase of demand to avoid prices increase demand on it.

Since the food safety in Yemen and especially in Arab countries is not possible leave it to changeable circumstances, which seems not safety.

Food regards a vital necessity for man, that’s why the economic and social problems are appeared, hence to solve this problem, it’s necessary to achieve food safety which need for development of agriculture and progress of agricultural sector.
