تم عمل العديد من المحاولات المعملية لدارسة القدرة على حرق زيت لزج بثبات.

تم تصنيع ثلاث مدومات لهواء الاحتراق بزوايا ريش 30° و 45° و60° و تم تجميعيا مركزيا مع مزرر خلط خارجي ذات ثقب فردى.

و لإضافة المزيد من الحركة الدورانية لقطرات الرذاذ، تم تصميم ثلاث أغطية لمدوم الوقود بزوايا نصف مخروطية 30° و 45° و60° و تم تثبيتها عند خروج المرذاذ.

كل غطاء يحتوى على أربعة مجارى يمر خلالها الهواء المضغوط ليخرج من أربعة فتحات مثقوبة بحيث تكون مماسية لمسطح المخروطى الداخلي للغطاء.

قطرات الوقود أصبحت دقيقة و ذات حركة دوامية قوية.

تم ضبط كل غطاء مع مدوم هواء الاحتراق المناظر له بحيث يكون لهما نفس الزاوية و نفس اتجاه السريان و ذلك لزيادة التأثيرات الدوامية و الاضطرابية للخليط.

من النتائج أتضح أنو تم الحصول بنجاح على لهب أكثر استقرارا مع زيادة ملحوظة لدرجات الحرارة داخل غرفة الاحتراق.

Abstract EN

Numerous experimental trials were carried out in order to investigate the ability of burning viscous oil steadily.

Three combustion air swirlers with vanes angles of 30o, 45o and 60o were manufactured and assembled co-axially with a single-hole externally mixed atomizer.

In order to add spinning motion to the droplets of the spray, three cups were designed with half cone angles of 30o, 45o and 60o and installed, in turn, at the atomizer exit.

Each cup has four passages through which compressed air were discharged from 4 holes drilled tangent to the conical inner surface of the cup.

Consequently, the oil droplets became finer and possessed a strong swirling motion.

Each cup was conjugated to the corresponding combustion air swirler having the same angle and the same streams direction in order to enhance swirling and turbulent effects of the mixture.

As a result ; more-stable flames were successfully attained and gas temperature values along the combustor were increased remarkably.
