لقد تم استخلاص الزیت العطري من الأوراق الجافة للنبتة السقطریة المستوطنة (Pulicaria stephanocarpa) حسب طریقة الدستور الأوربي ثم حلل بجھاز الفصل غاز كروماتوجرافي المرتبط بجھاز المطیاف الكتلي و ذلك لفصل المركبات و تحدید الكتلة (GC-MS) و كانت المركبات الرئيسة المعزولة هي : الفا كادینول، (42.5 %) α-cadinol ؛ سباثولینول، (22.

%) spathulenol، كاريوفيلين caryophyllene (10.8 %)، الفا كادينين δ-cadinene (5.4 %)، و مركب cis-(-)-2,4a,5,6,9,9a- hexahydro-3,5,5,9-tetramethyl-1H-Benzocycloheptene (4.6 %) و الفا مورولين - muurolene (4.1 %).

كذلك تم فحص مفعولھا المضاد للفطریات ضد الفطر المسمى Cladosporium cucumerinumباستعمال طريقة microbioassay on TLC plates البيو كروماتوجرافيا.

بتطبيق تراكيز مختلفة 400, 200, 100 ميكروجرام.

أظھر الزیت العطري فعالیته المضادة للفطريات عند تركیز 400 میكروجرام بما یعادل 18.6 ملم (inhibition) zone.

Abstract EN

Chemical composition of the essential oil obtained from the leaves of the endemic Soqotraen Pulicaria stephanocarpa Balf.

was analyzed by GC-MS.

Sesquiterpenes are the predominant portion of both essential oils.

Major compounds of Pulicaria stephanocarpa oil were α-cadinol (42.5%), spathulenol (22.%), caryophyllene (10.8%), δ-cadinene (5.4%), cis-(-)-2,4a,5,6,9,9ahexahydro- 3,5,5,9-tetramethyl-1H-Benzocycloheptene (4.6%), and a-muurolene (4.1%).

The essential oils were screened for their antifungal activity against the phytopathogenic fungus (Cladosporium cucumerinum) by using a microbioassay on TLC plates at concentrations of 400, 200 and 100 μg.

At the concentration of 400 μg, the oil showed marked antifungal activity with an inhibition zone of 18.6.mm.
