Abstract EN

A social theoretical study in an analytical style of the content of the most important of Dr.

Ali Al- Wardi's works, in addition to the opinion of some of those who wrote about him in an attempt to reveal one of the most significant research methods of sociology which is the historical method and the way he applied this method in study of the Iraqi society and the analysis of the social phenomenon through following up this history.

Therefore, this study starts with an introduction revealing its importance and its purpose as well as the problem that it tackles.

Then it dealt with revealing the concepts of the basic studies, the history, the method and the historical method.

After which, a rapid review of the bibliography of Dr.

Ali Al- Wardi.

Finally, the researcher discussed the way he applied the historical method in the social research.
