Abstract EN

Duplications of the alimentary tract are very rare congenital anomalies, two thirds of cases manifest before the age of two years.

Ileal duplication is common while colonic duplications are unusual, they may remain asymptomatic and present in adulthood.

This report will discuss a case of a 16 year old female who presented with abdominal pain and was admitted to the gynecology department through the Emergency Room as a case of ovarian cyst.

Further evaluation and investigations were followed, the diagnosis of a cecal enterogenous cyst was confirmed by the laparoscope and histopathological exam .The patient then was treated by intestinal resection with end to end anastamosis.

This report implies that although alimentary tract duplications are rare, they should be considered in any case presenting with abdominal pain.
