Abstract EN

Bromination of bicyclic olefins under the normal conditions gives Wagner-Meerwein rearrangement products.

The expected normal addition products cannot be obtained.

However, bromination of these systems at high temperatures gives non-rearrangement products.

This methodology provides the possibility to synthesize the normal addition products which are important for synthetic or mechanical aspects.

Furthermore, bromination of some aromatic and saturated compounds at high temperatures are discussed.
