Abstract EN

The synthesis of octanuclear Ti4M4 species (3a : M = Cu (I), 3b : M = Ag(I)) can be realised by the reaction of the organometallic π-tweezers {[Ti] (μ-σ, π-C ≡ CSiMe3)2} MX ([Ti] = (η5- C5H4SiMe3)2Ti ; 1a : MX = Cu(N ≡ CMe)ClO4, 1b : MX = AgFPF5) with 5, 10, 5, 20-tetra(4- pyridyl)porphyrin (2) in a 4 : 1 molar ratio.

In 3a and 3b four early-late [{[Ti](μ-σ, π-C ≡ CSiMe3)2}M]+ units are bridged by a (4-pyridyl)porphyrin core, whereby the pyridyl entities are datively bound to the group-11 metal atom M.
