Abstract EN

In order to sustain the network life of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), the Energy-aware Adhoc routing protocol (EAT) was proposed.

The EAT routing protocol is a tree like protocol which is based on the Ad-hoc On Demand distance Vector routing (AODV) and integrated the idea of Sequential Assignment Routing (SAR).

EAT integrated the stableness of AODV and the multipath and Quality of Service (QOS) characteristic of SAR, and adopted the energy aware principle based dimidiate search arithmetic to optimize the transmitting power.

The principium, routing packet, routing built process and characteristic of EAT protocol are detailed and the NS2 simulation tool is used to compare the EAT and AODV protocol and to evaluate the combination property.

The simulation results show that EAT have the same robustness, connect ability and QOS with AODV, but could reduce the wireless conflicts and expand the lifetime of the whole network.
