Abstract EN

Six Ethyl 2-oxo- £, 6-diarylcyclohex-3-ene-1-carboxy-late are efficiently synthesized from the conjugated addition reaction of chalcones to ethyl acetoacetate ' followed by intramolecular cyclization in presence of 10 % sodium hydroxide and tetrabutyl ammoniumhydrogen-sulphate as phase transfer catalyst (PTC), the synthesized cyclohexenone derivatives were characterized on the basis of their spectroscopic data.
