أجريت الدراسة على أسماك الباغة (Restrelliger Kanagurta)، حيث تم جمع 110 سمكة باستخدام الشباك الخيشومية (Gill nets) بقياسات مختلفة من منطقة الخوخة و التي تقع جنوب مدينة الحديدة على مسافة 150 كم تقريبا على ساحل البحر الأحمر.
استخدمت المعادلات الرياضية مقرونة بالطرق العملية، و اتضح بأن الشبكة الخيشومية قياس (30.6 ملم) فما فوق لطول ضلع عين الشبكة (Mesh size) يمكن استخدامها لصيد أسماك الباغة و بمتوسط طول مقداره (235.6 ملم) و متوسط وزن مقدراه (127.3 ملم) و التي تسمح لأسماك الباغة بأن تضع بيضها و لو لمرة خلال فترة حياتها.
و قد أكد الباحثان على ضرورة أن تستخدم هذه الشباك في الزمان و المكان الملائمين و تحت إشراف و مراقبة من قبل موظفي إدارة و تنظيم المصائد اليمنية لكي لا يساء استخدامها بصورة عشوائية لصيد باقي أنواع الأسماك التجارية الأخرى و التي لم تتكاثر أو تضع بيضها بمثل هذا الحجم الصغير بسبب صغر عيون الشبكة و حسب الاختيارية لشباك الصيد.
Abstract EN
The Bagha (Rastrelliger kanagurta) was used in the present study in order to regulate the using of Gill net in fishing of this species and to find the suitable mesh size in fisheries or in fishing.
(110) fish were collected from Al-Khokha area, in the Red Sea coast of Yemen.
By means of mathematical equations and practical observation.
It found that the Gill net of (30.62 mm.) mesh size will be suitable of fishing Bagha of (235.6 mm.) length and (127.3 g) weight.
This net will allow the Bagha to spawn at less once in the life span.
Also, the Gill net of such mesh size must be used in suitable area and in proper time under observation and management of the Fisheries Department.
