الأهداف من هذه الدراسة كانت لإيجاد المساوئ و الأعراض الجانبية لحقنة الديبوبروفيرا بين النساء المستخدمات لهذه الطريقة لمنع الحمل.
أجريت دراسة راجعة بين 200 امرأة عراقية استخدمت هذه الطريقة لمنع الحمل.
كان مكان الدراسة هو عيادة تنظيم الأسرة في مستشفى البصرة للولادة و الأطفال للفترة ما بين كانون الثاني 2000 و تموز 2001.
أوضحت نتائج الدراسة الأسباب الرئيسية للتوقف عن استخدام حقنة الديبوبروفيرا و هي : نزف العادة الشهرية (32 %)، انقطاع الطمث (29 %)، اضطرابه (19.5 %) و قلته (6 %) من الحالات.
أما الأعراض الجانبية الأخرى فهي زيادة الوزن، ألم الساق، تغيرات نفسية و غيرها و التي اعتبرت أعراض غير مقبولة لدى النساء قيد الدراسة، مما أدى إلى تغير طريقة منع الحمل.
ينصح من هذه الدراسة ضرورة إرشاد النساء المستفيدات من هذه الطريقة قبل استخدامها.
حيث يجب عرض الإيجابيات و السلبيات المحتمل حدوثها قبل استخدامها، مما يؤدي إلى زيادة في قبول هذا النوع من موانع الحمل من قبل المستفيدات.
للرعاية الصحية الدور الأساس في إبداء النصيحة و المشورة في هذا المضمار.
Abstract EN
Objective : The objectives were to back determine the draw and the unwanted effects of (Depo-provera) injection among the women using It.
Site: Family Planning Clinics, Design : This is a retrospective study and questionnaire analysis of 200 Iraqi women, who had-Depo-provera injection as a method of contraception at the family planning clinic of Basrah-maternity and child hospital from December 2000 till July 2001.
Results, The results showed the main reason for discontinuing use of DMPA injection were mainly related to menstrual abnormalities in which menorrhagia account for (32 %) Amenorrhoea (29 %), irregular spotting (19.5 %) and oligo amenorrhoea (6 %).
The other complaints included weight gain, leg pain, mood changes and others, were unacceptable to the women and they tried other methods of contraception.
Conclusion : it is important to advice pretreatment counselling on discontinuation in women given depo-provera for contraception and counseling on the expected unwanted effects greatly increased the acceptability of this form of contraception.
Primary health centers can play a major role in health education and give advice on contraception.
