Abstract EN

Environmental pollution is considered one of the most vital problems confronting the big cities that witness a progressive urban growth with unbalanced between human activities and time and place environmental outcomes.

This problem is very clear in Jeddah city (The sea port of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) on the Red sea; it is embodied by various images; Sewage pollution, ground water level change, sea pollution, waste pollution .

In this study the researcher aims at shedding light on the nature of this problem, analyzing its risks to expose its present and future effects, and later urges the human abilities to do studies and to double efforts to face and limit its effects before they become catastrophic, the researcher was keen about collecting a great amount of these problems miscellanies in reports, studies, books, results analysis, induction, deduction of ideas, field survey for enhancement and assessment.

The researcher shows in general that this problem is attributed to the environmental ability in Jeddah city with its various factors, lithology, topography, structural, tectonic, climatic and pedology that do not suit the current immediate levels of development in this city on one hand, and that the man did not take in consideration the controls of reaction and dealing with environment either because of environmental awareness shortage or negligence of the principle of give and take with the environment.

The researcher warns of (from the risks of pollution phenomena reality analysis) the necessity to warn and to be ware of the possible environmental calamity in the next few years (Allah most knowing) if efforts are not combined with co-operation between the concerned circles in the city, the researcher emphasis the necessity for the follow up of resolutions execution, and the need for more studies to be conducted and the activation of environmental legislations strictly for the sake of environmental safety.

Moreover, to improve the “environmental management and planning activities, the whole affair is the true faith in and loyalty to Allah not to spoil the earth that has been granted to us by Allah most Graceful, suitable and proper for us to be inhabited as per Allah’s Most High way and tradition through the knowledge, wisdom and science He bestowed on us.
