Abstract EN

A study was performed on the placenta of 36 female mice of Balb / C strain, to study the effects of protein deficiency on the histological structure of the placenta at two stages of gestation.

Results showed that protein deficient diet is responsible for several histological changes on the chronic villa and placental barrier and others like hemorrhaged, fibrosis in the villi and intervillous spaces, and some degenerated areas in the placenta which may influence the placental function in the transport of essential materials for growth and development of the embryo.
