Abstract EN

Libraries are the social institutions in charge of providing information services to all segments of the society including the visually impaired and those with special needs.

Because of their right to benefit from the services of libraries and information centres, the later need to be provided services adapted to their impairment to help them adapt to the university environment.

Libraries must provide and train information specialists to deal with this category of users at the psychological level on the one hand and at the informative level on the other hand.

Libraries must also involve this category of users in the planning of information services since the majority of information specialists do not have the appropriate skill in dealing with it and do not know the required services as well.

This paper presents afield study on information services oriented towards thiscategory ofusersat the libraries of the University Mentouri and the University of the Islamic Sciences Emir Abdelkaderin Constantine, Algeria.
