Abstract EN

This study deals with the fine art criticism in Jordanian magazine, with Afkar as an example.

Afkar, a Jordanian monthly magazine issued by the Ministry of Culture, is among the few Jordanian magazines that are concerned with fine art and its criticism.

It gives special attention to Plastic art and its criticism.

The study sample consists of (24) articles published between the years (2000) and (2005).

The articles were found to fit in three categories, discussing an artist›s biography, presenting an artist›s CV, or conducting an interview with an artist. The researcher analyzed the articles employing the current art criticism approaches and came up with some conclusions about art criticism in Jordan.
