English Abstract

This thesis describes a computer system that implements an expert network shell using the expert system and the neural network simulator.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine an advanced technique to implement an expert network shell and to use this shell to solve a real-word problem (computer network problem monitoring).

The proposed expert network gives reasonable results relating to predict the occurred problem in a computer network in an optimum time and this result assists network administrator in his major jobs.

A simulation for a Gigabit Ethernet network is implemented using OPNET IT GURU.

The simulated scenarios were developed to simulate a heavy web browsing network and to implement an artificial fail on of the web servers implemented.

The result shows that the implemented expert network gives a good performance for detecting a fault on the implemented network.

The expert network is trained to the ideal load and then tested with a network fault to be able to detect the fault on the network.

The implemented expert network provides the ability to a network administrator to detect a certain levels of error.
