Abstract EN

The AMPS-1D program was successfully used to study inorganic solar cells.

In this work the program was used to optimize the performance of the organic solar cells. The results were found to be in a good agreement with the experimental results, obtained from the literature. The results have showed that the optimum thickness of the solar cell is about 120 nm, the optimum energy difference between the lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals of the electron donor and the electron acceptor is about 0.5 eV.

The maximum limit for the efficiency of the organic solar cell is about 9%, provided that the band-gap of the cell is about 1.5 eV.
