الهدف الأساسي من هذه الورقة هو معرفة التأثير للتعرية الأخدودية على مؤشرات النمو للذرة و المؤشرات التي تم قياسها هي الطول و الوزن الجاف في منطقة الشواك لمدد مختلفة و الهدف الثاني هو جذب الانتباه لمشكلة التعرية المائية في هذه المنطقة المهمة من السودان النتائج أوضحت أن النباتات المزروعة في الأرض غير المتأثرة أطول من تلك المزروعة في الأرض المتأثرة و كذلك متوسط الوزن الجاف 0.022 جم للنبات مقارنا ب 0.014 و ذلك بعد أسبوع من الزراعة و استمر هذا لمدد أخرى هي 15 و 30 و 60 يوما و كان متوسط الوزن الجاف للنباتات المزروعة في الأرض غير المتأثرة 2.048 مقارنا ب 1.64 جم للمتأثرة.

Abstract EN

The main objectives of this article are to show the bad effect of gully erosion on the growth parameters of Sorghum.

Tested parameters are height and dry weight of Sorghum vulgare at Elshowak area for different periods.

The other objective of this research is to draw attention of gully erosion problem at this important part of Sudan.

Gully erosion had bad consequences, which affect the establishment of sorghum crop.

Results showed that Sorghum plants in intact soil (not affected by gully erosion) had better height growth.

Average dry weight was also better in intact soil.

It was 0.022 grams per plant compared to 0.014 for severely gullied soil after a week of planting.

This effect was continued for longer periods of 15, 30, and 60 days.

The average dry weight for intact soil was 2.048 grams compared to 1.64 grams for severely gullied soil.

The performance of plants in moderately gullied area showed moderate parameters of height and dry weight.
