English Abstract

AM-Her systems or Polars as a magnetic Cataclysmic Variables (mCVs) form a subclass of CVs.

They are a fine group of close binary systems in which a secondary star, which is usually – but not always – a red dwarf star, donor plasma to the primary star, which is a white dwarf.

Accreting plasma is captured by the magnetosphere of white dwarf.

An accretion column forms close to the magnetic poles of the white dwarf in a dipole pattern.

This forms a shock, and exhibit a cyclotron line emission during moderate accretion rates.

This electromagnetic radiation is known to propagate through the magnetized plasma as ordinary and extraordinary waves or modes. The aim of our work is to examine the effect of the cyclotron cooling on shocks stabilization for the specific magnetic field value ; B* = 17 MG ; as a fixed choice.

We first determined the hydrodynamic structure of the post-shock region, and then performed radiative transfer calculations of the radiation from that region.

The Ordinary and Extraordinary Cyclotron intensities from AM-Her systems inferred for the radiative accretion.

The calculations performed for a 0.3 solar mass white dwarf primary star, and an accretion and Eddington luminosity rate of .

At a given instant of time, we investigated variation of both modes intensities with harmonic numbers for various angles of observation.

Also, we inferred the time-dependent cyclotron intensities for the two modes, at a fixed viewing angel for the same circumstances.
