English Abstract

In this thesis we will introduce the concepts of the permutation representation of a finite group G and the G -equivariance of an invertible linear operator on a complex vector space with respect to G .

Then we will use these concepts for the cyclic group Z2 and the symmetry reduction method to reduce the computational cost of solving a Laplace equation numerically.
