English Abstract

In this work, ball milling method was used to prepare barium ferrite doped with Cr (BaFe11.3Cr 0.7O19) at different annealing temperatures.

The structure and the magnetic behavior of the prepared samples were investigated and compared with previously prepared pure barium ferrite samples (1912 Ba Fe O).

The XRD measurement show that intensive formation of BaFe12O19 starts at 800 o C for the pure samples.

While for doped samples an intermediate phase of BaFe2O4 was observed at 800 o C and the intensive formation of BaFe12O19 was at 1000o C.

For both a single phase of BaFe12O19 was found at 1200o C.

It was found that the doping of barium ferrite with Cr leads to increase in coercive field, anisotropy field and decrease in the process of cluster formation.

Also lead to decrease the saturation magnetization.

These results were taken from hysteresis loop, delta M, remnant curve and SEM.
