English Abstract
In an age of rapidly moving technology, there is a growing requirement for data transfer, processing, and storage of information.
This information technology revolution is creating a significant demand for advanced data communication networks allowing access to information whenever and wherever it is needed.
Existing Packet Assembler Disassembler (PAD) as an integrated card or external equipment hardware provides a virtual vehicle in the process of data transfer with communication networks.
This thesis discusses the development of a Packet Assembler Disassembler (PAD), which is configured for data transfer over radio.
PAD is a protocol converter interfaces asynchronous data terminal equipment (DTE) with an X.25 protocol network.
It accepts the ASCII code data stream from the DTE, buffers.
This data, processes it, then converts it into a properly formatted X.25 protocols, and send it over X.25 PSDN to the desired DTE.
Structured base software for data picketing and processing has been simulated, which model, and support experimentation of variety of schemes of data can transfer, including packet switching.
Visual Basic and Turbo C programming languages are used to develop all the required simulation software, the combination of Central Processing Unit (CPU), serial communication controller, Electrical Programmable Read Only Memory (EPROM), and buffering registers make the implementation of such a highly flexible interface possible.
The thesis contains a full discussion of the theory and operation of Packet Assembler Disassembler (PAD) as well as their simulated software program details.
