English Abstract

In this work we studied the magnetic and structural properties of bismuth ferrite samples doped with 10 % of (Ca, Gd, Sm or Sr) in the A-site only, and with 2 % of (Zn or Ni) in the B-site .

X-ray diffraction and magnetization measurements were performed for all samples.

X-ray diffraction results confirmed the formation of the rhombohedra perovskite-like BiFeO3 phase accompanied by some impurity phases.

A-site doping with Sr2+ or Ca2+ facilitates single phase formation of the compounds by suppressing impurity phases.

All the samples show weak ferromagnetism with no saturation magnetization.

B-site doping decreases the coercively HC and enhances the eminence Mr.

Magnetic hysteresis loops with enhanced remnant magnetization were obtained for the Gd and Ni-containing compounds.
