English Abstract

-The Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) method is an advanced, computation-intensive PWMmethod and is considered the best among the PWM techniques according to harmonics effect and the losses.

This work proposes modeling, implementation and simulation of three phase induction motor driver, using voltage-fed Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation technique (SVPWM).The sources of total harmonics (i.e.

total effective harmonic, interharmonic, and sub-harmonic) and how it effects on the drive system and their effects on the supply power network are studied .

A developed formula of Total Harmonics Distortion factor (THD) including inter-harmonics and subharmonics has been introduced.

The effect of inter-harmonics and subharmonics on the performance parameter of total harmonics distortion factor, switching losses factor and the quality factor has been deduced.

The interaction of total harmonics and the supply power factor in different conditions are studied and developed .

Modeling, implementation and simulation of the system using PSIM program software are also presented.

All results are obtained by study the waveforms of voltage and current at the source and load sides at load and no load situations with different speeds of motor drive (i.e.

different modulation index) and complete switching frequency.

The simulation and experimental results are consistentwith the theoretical studies, they indicate that the model is accurate and practicable .
