English Abstract
For any substance, the spectral signature is the most important property that makes it possible 'e to be clad sifted from other substances.
The aim of this research n is to use .he spectral signatures in a different method of classification; Th spectral s ^natures can be obtained from the available satellite images of w area under study without the need for field investigation.
The main idea of this method is to obtain the spectral signatures of different features by software program written with Visual Basic language and designed depending on several editions to get the reflectance of small sub-image from its digital number DN \ aloe.
A geological map and Latitat-7 (ETM+-) imagery for Ali a Bani yah Lake and area around it, was our data recourses for this study, also we use ERDAS 8.4 program to represent the satellite image.
To prove the profitability of using our program, we compared our results with the standard spectral signature curves which are available in the spectral signature libraries and we proved that it is possible to get acceptable results by using that program.
