English Abstract
-LABVIEW technique was the powerful graphical programing language that had its root in operation, automation control and data recording for the wastewater system with multiple contaminants of heavy metals such as; Cu, Cr, Cd, Fe, Ni & Zn from the electroplating process.
pH of water was the objective function of the treatment process.
The flow rate of chemical reagent (acid or base) was the more effective variable which could use as the manipulating variable.
Advanced optimization methods such as single and multi-objective genetic technique were used to find the optimum desired value (pH of water) and the decision variables (flow rate and inlet concentration of chemical reagent).
The pH process system dynamically behaved as a first order lag system with dead time.
The control system of the non-linear unsteady state wastewater treatment system had been developed depending upon the dynamic behavior of the process.
The tuning of control parameters was found by two methods; process reaction curve (PRC) which was better than Internal Model Control (IMC).
The Integral of Absolute of Error (IAE) criteria was used to compare and develop experimentally the above fixed tuning and select the best and effective values of proportional gain (Kc), Integral time constant (t I) and Derivative time constant(t D ).
PI mode was the best conventional mode for control the fast pH process.
The adaption of control parameters was necessary to find the more accuratevalues due to the high nonlinearity and unsteady state of the pH process.
Genetic adaptive algorithm technique gave the best results because of high accuracy and its developed search mechanism than the adaptive controller.
Experimental phase- plane technique was more suitable to study and limit the stability conditions of the present nonlinear process.
