English Abstract

-The research in this thesis presents a hydrodynamic characteristics such phase holdup and bubble properties of three phase fluidized beds with carboxy methyl cellulose solution such as viscous liquid.

Fluidization was defined as the process by which solid particles were transformed into a fluid like state through suspension in a gas or liquid.

Three-phase fluidized beds with liquid viscous medium have been widely employed in industrial practice for gas absorption and for certain chemical processes.

The aim of the present work is an experimental work on the effect of superficial gas velocity, particle diameter, particle density and the viscosity of the liquid medium on the gas-holdup, liquid-holdup, solid-holdup, mean bubble diameter, bubble rising velocity and bubble frequency in three-phase fluidized beds with liquid viscous medium.
