English Abstract

The present work is conducted in order to study the effect of oil temperature and pressure variation on the hydraulic system work. The first effect that has been studied is the effect of temperature and pressure on the hydraulic oil used in the system.

The oil is the first component which will be influenced by he changes in the surrounding conditions and all its properties will be changed.

The most important property of the oil that will be studied is the viscosity, which has the most sensitive property to the variation in the temperature and pressure.

The viscosity is measured experimentally at different temperatures (20⟶100)C and atmospheric pressure and by using a correlations taken from literature of other researchers in order to evaluate the viscosity at different temperatures and pressures. The hydraulic test bench existing at the Fluid Mechanic Laboratory/University of Technology has been developed to meet the requirements of the experimental work. The effect of the temperature and pressure will be studied by evaluating the work of two loading actuators (hydraulic cylinder and motor), where the cylinder is loaded by a spring (variable load) and the hydraulic motor is loaded by a DC generator and variable electrical resistance.

The displacement of the cylinder piston and the rotational speed of the motor and the generated voltage of the DC generator will be measured in order to evaluate the variation in system work. It was found that, the oil viscosity is a large dependence on the fast and higher than that in the open hydraulic circuit, where at a pressure of (40 bar) and at the same period of (240 min) was 11.33 % higher.

The system work is a large dependence on the temperature and the working period, where the ratio of the pressure losses in the cylinder test for pressures (10, 20, 30 and 40) bar were (22.36 %, 17.36 %, 13.09 % and 9.95 %) respectively and in the motor test (with heating) the pressure losses ratio was approximately constant 22 % for pressures of (20, 30 and 40) bar at the same period of (256 min).
