English Abstract
The aim of this study is to assess the efficiency performance of Al-rehabilitated in the year 200 < 1 by Brecht Constriction Co.
under a grant awarded by Unsaid ; data collected before and after the rehabilitation were analyzed to check on the efficacy of the rehabilitated work.
In addition, data on Diayla river water along with satellite images before and after the rehabilitated work were analyzed.
Satellite images were analyzed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in order to obtain color images that show the spatial analysis of pollutants concentration discharged to Diayla river and their effect on the river.
Data on the different treatment units within the plant for the year 2006 were statistically analyzed and compared with the original design parameters and the Tram standards on effluent discharges into receiving water.
Furthermore, they results indicated that the data on effluent discharges from the Al-Rustamiyah 3 WWTP into Diayla river were not in general complete agreement with the Iraqi standards on effluent discharges into receiving water, number 25, for the year 1967 However, results of the analysis of data on biological processes specially; (aeration tanks and final clarifiers) showed mat there was a clear chronic biological upset.
This indicated that the data on effluent discharges (BOD and SS) were manipulated so as to conform to the environmental law on effluent discharges: The results indicated clearly that the rehabilitated program had no significant effect on improving its state of dereliction.
