English Abstract
eliability analysis has a wide range of applications in the engineering field The present study, thus has focused its attention on three methods : Fault-Tree, Markov Process, Path Tracing .
The first two methods have been touched upon generally .
As far as the third method is concerned, a detailed explanation has been presented on Path Tracing method and how to apply it to the systems .
Then it was applied to Containment Heat Removal System of Nuclear Reactors for the case of loss of power supply, to assess both its reliability and availability.
The reliability study has been accomplished using two programs, the first is used to determine the (Minimal cut sets), and the second to calculate the (Reliability characteristics).
Also, this study discusses the reliability of 400 KV Iraqi network, which is divided to in five parts .
These parts are South region, Middle region, Baghdad region, Salahaddin with Anbar region, and North region .
At the beginning the cut sets of each region is deduced by using Path Tracing Method , The reliability of each region is calculated by using Fussell Algorithm .
The research has reached the following conclusions :-^ The first order Minimal Cut Sets (MCSs) are weak points in the electrical power supply systems .
^ The least reliable components in the system are weak points in the design.
^ In complicated systems such as nuclear reactors it is important to know the expected rate of occurring of failures .
